Hello. My name is Chris Truter Nieuwoudt. I am a teacher at Shingang Elementary school and this is my fifth year teaching at this exceptional school.

I come from a small town in the Northern Cape of South Africa called Keimoes. I studied for four years at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein to become a teacher.

I started my teaching career at Hartswater Primary School, and I taught there for five years. Then, in August 2019, I moved to Taiwan and started teaching at Shingang Elementary School in Shengang Township, Changhua County. I have been lucky enough to teach at Shingang Elementary School for almost five years now.

I love being a part of the school and community here, and I'm looking forward to continuing my journey as a teacher at this amazing school.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe learning should be interactive, engaging. As an educator, my goal is to foster curiosity, confidence, and communication in the classroom by creating dynamic lessons enriched with technology and practical activities. I focus on encouraging students to speak freely, embrace mistakes as valuable learning opportunities, and discover English as a practical skill rather than merely an academic subject. Through thoughtful preparation, enthusiasm, and genuine connection, I aim to inspire my students to enjoy learning, empowering them to communicate confidently in a global community.
